The Government of Romania assumed in todays meeting the unblocking of the construction of the new stadium in Timişoara, on the condition that the works carried out until the end of 2027 are supported from the budget of the Timiş County Council, Simonis announced in a post published on Facebook. According to Simonis, once this Government document is approved, the National Investment Company can sign the design and execution contract with the company that won the tender.
“We have the money, although some local politicians said that we do not have the necessary amounts, we know exactly what we have to do and we will do it! We are putting up 126 million lei by the end of next year, and the difference, up to 603 million, will be borne by the CNI from 2028”, declared the president of the CJT. “Timişul and Timişoara deserve a real stadium.
And they will have it! ”, concludes Alfred Simonis. The new “Dan Păltinişanu” Stadium, which is to be built in place of the old arena, will have 32,000 seats and will be built to UEFA Standards.
The project costs approximately 140 million euros.
